Ashes 2019: Rain delays third day’s play between England and Australia

Rain delayed the start of day three of the fourth Ashes Test between Australia and England at Old Trafford.
Play was scheduled to begin at 11:00 BST on Friday but persistent drizzle means the covers are on.
With England awaiting restart on 23-1, tracking by 474 the weather has been set to improve from approximately 13:00.
Even the five-match series is tied at 1-1, but victory for Australia at Manchester this week could see these retain the Ashes.
Batsman Steve Smith scored a 211 allowing until England opener Joe Denly fell for four, Australia to announce on 497-8.
Rain shortened day one but the forecast is for dry weather during the weekend.
